Adjusting a Zipper to any size you want!
Since I launched All That Sewing patterns, I have received now and then questions on how to adjust the zipper size to size mentioned in my patterns.
One might be tempted to look for zippers in the exact same measures I mention in my patterns and be disappointed and even give up on pursuing the sewing project because he couldn’t find the desired zipper size!
Truth is I usually work with zipper by the yard (or by meter), so I customize my zippers – cutting them and adding a zipper puller of my choice, before any sewing project, but if you work with pre-cut zippers and are a little bit lost on how to adjust them to fit a sewing project, this sewing tutorial is for you!
This tutorial also shows you how to add the zipper tabs on both sides of the zipper! Never again should you hesitate to sew projects with this particular feature!
This is what I mean by a zipper with zipper tabs:
PS: The tutorial and pattern comes in a PDF file just like any other tutorial in my shop. That way, you can download them for free, or print them in a friendly format. Also, if you don’t know how my patterns are built you can actually see how they look like!

Christmas Sewing anyone?...
Fact: Christmas is just around the corner.
Fact nr 2: We love to sew something for the holiday…
But what if, we sew something in the Christmas spirit but also useful for our sewing room? Or maybe as a cute stocking stuffer for a friend that just started to sew?
I decided to bring you a super nice and easy tutorial of a cute Christmas Tree that can be used as a pin cushion or as a Christmas Ornament to hang around the house!
When I made them, I just couldn’t decide with what fabric to make them with and since they were that easy, well I just made 4 in a row 😅
I am currently using one as a pin cushion, but I am placing the other three as ornaments in a small tray ❤️
I compiled the tutorial in a PDF file you can download directly by clicking the photos and it will take you to the file. Just click the link and your file will immediately show up.
Whatever your choice is I just hope you love these little Christmas Trees and show me your makes to allthatsewing.info@gmail.com or tag me on Instagram @allthatsewingcom.

Sewing Weights… what are they for?
Picture this: you’re getting ready to sew an exciting new project: you’ve just ironed your fabric, laid it on the table, placed the pattern over it and you’re going to start tracing it out… but the pattern doesn’t stand still, and you realize you need to put some weight over it to hold it in place or it will eventually compromise the outcome of your project…
I don’t know if it ever happened to you, but it sure happened to me already… so I started using what was at hand to serve that purpose like my cell phone and the remote 🙂 Until I took a few fabric scraps and decided to sew some sewing weights!
On my first blog article I decided to bring that easy project to you!
Whether you are an experienced sewist or a beginner, you are going to love these Sewing Weights. The experienced sewists will probably have a ton of fabric scraps that are perfect to sew this project – and I just love a great scrap buster project!
If you’re a beginner and don’t have many scraps yet, maybe you can choose a pretty fabric to make some sewing weights… the kind of fabric that will inspire you and spark your creativity. I believe that when we surround ourselves with beautiful things – especially handmade things – it just makes us want to create even more.
Just so you know all you need for this project is small scraps of fabric, a scrap of any ribbon of your choice (it is optional though) and rice… yes rice! Rice will work as the weight inside the little fabric bags (I also added a bit of lavender into it for an extra scent).
I compiled the tutorial in a PDF file you can download directly by clicking the photos and it will take you to the file. Just click the link and your file will immediately show up.
So go ahead, make one, two, plenty of them and I am sure you will feel much more inspired in your sewing then if you were using the phone, or the remote like me 😉
I must tell you that I always love to see your creations so please do email me a photo or your comments to:
